The primary cause of the issue was restricted airflow and an imbalance in the refrigerant cycle, leading to inefficient cooling performance. A thick layer of dust and dirt had accumulated on the evaporator coil, reducing its ability to absorb heat efficiently and putting extra strain on the compressor. Additionally, refrigerant levels were found to be below the manufacturer’s recommended levels, which can result from minor leaks or improper servicing. This imbalance forced the system to overwork, leading to higher energy consumption. The thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) was partially clogged, causing inconsistent refrigerant flow and affecting the cooling process. Furthermore, the thermostat calibration had drifted, leading to irregular temperature regulation and unnecessary strain on the system. To resolve these issues, we performed a deep cleaning of the evaporator coil using a high-quality coil cleaner, replaced the air filters to restore proper airflow, and conducted a refrigerant refill while pressure-testing the system for potential leaks. The expansion valve was cleaned and reinstalled to optimize refrigerant distribution, and the thermostat was recalibrated to ensure precise temperature control and energy efficiency.
